Gluten Free Penne in Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. Heartland Gluten Free Penne
  • 1 lb. asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cups 1% milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 6 oz. Canadian bacon, diced

 

Prep Time: 00:10 (hr/min)

Cook Time: 00:15 (hr/min)

Serves: 6

Directions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions; add asparagus during last 2 minutes of cooking.
  2. Drain, cover and set aside.
  3. Meanwhile, whisk together cornstarch and milk.
  4. Cook over medium-high heat for 2 – 3 minutes while stirring.
  5. Add cheese, bell pepper, and Canadian bacon; mix well.
  6. Gently stir in hot pasta and asparagus.
